1. Privacy-first design

The journal is built to stay on your device. We do not operate a user account system, a cloud backup of entries, or an analytics pipeline inside the app.

2. What the app stores locally

When you use the app, the following may be saved on your iPhone, under your control:

• Journal entries you write (title, body, visit date, mood, tags, favourite flag, optional link to a bundled place)
• Photographs you choose to attach, copied into the app documents folder
• Settings such as journal focus, default mood, preferred tags, photo-strip visibility, and whether onboarding is complete

You can export every entry as JSON to the clipboard, or erase the journal after two confirmations. Uninstalling the app removes local data held in the app container.

3. Camera and photo library

The app requests camera or photo-library access only when you attach a picture to an entry or to a support note. Those permissions are used for that purpose. You can refuse them and still write text-only entries. A setting hides the photo strip on the compose screen.

4. What the app does not collect

The app does not create an account, does not ask for your name, and does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. The in-app support sheet validates an email and message on the device and does not transmit that message to our servers — there is no app backend. 5. When the app uses the network

A connection is used if you open Privacy Policy or Terms of Service in the in-app browser (those pages load from this website), or if you choose Rate this app (the system App Store review prompt). Bundled places and writing prompts ship inside the app and do not require a download to browse.

6. This website

The marketing site may load fonts, icons, and animation libraries from third-party content networks. See the Cookie Policy. If you email us, we receive the address and content you send, and we use them only to reply.

7. Children

The app is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Security

Local journal data is as protected as the rest of your iPhone. Use a device passcode. We cannot recover an erased journal.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of the page will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
